I spoke on a panel at Melbourne Business School last week, and one of the big themes that came up was soft skills.

You know - the “people” stuff.

Things like building rapport with stakeholders, managing up, resolving conflict, listening deeply, communicating clearly, or showing leadership in tough situations.

We call them soft skills, but honestly? They’re some of the hardest things to learn.

But I'm here to tell you that soft skills are your superpower.

They’re also one of the most in-demand skill sets in the job market right now.

But many people I coach - even high-performing, highly capable leaders - downplay these strengths or have no idea how to talk about them with confidence.
